WHO IS POLES APART DESIGN
My name is Kemi Oyesiku. I am a Front-End Website Developer and Designer with an understanding of back-end technologies, User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI) and specializing in Responsive Development & Design and WordPress Custom Development & Design. I also do Technical Writing for IT/Software Companies. I’ve worked in Web Development since 2006.
Before becoming a Front-End Web Developer, I worked in book publishing on the administrative side, studied Creative Writing, Film Theory, Art History in college, and Fashion Design in high school. These days I still write, appreciate art, watch films (and criticize…I mean critique them) and sew.
As a Front-End Website Developer and Designer, I’ve worked in small and large companies. I’ve worked on small projects and large projects. I’ve worked with lesser known as well as many well known domestic and global clients and agencies. I’ve worked with other talented designers, front end developers and back-end programmers/engineers.
I also write Technical Documentation (User guides and Disaster Recovery Plans for software) for IT and web software companies.
I live and work in San Francisco Bay Area (though raised in New York City mostly). In addition to local opportunities, I take on projects from anywhere in the world by way of telecommunications: Skype, email, phone, basecamp, google hangout, carrier pigeon, etc.
I am currently only taking short-term contract, ongoing telecommute contract and freelance projects including Technical Writing work. Feel free to contact me via the contact form at the bottom of this page or LinkedIn in if you’d like to hire me for your web project.
Also, feel free to learn more about me personally at kemio.net.
Poles Apart (since 2006)
Life’s a journey, not a destination…walk on.
Poles Apart Design likes to partner with awesome individuals and companies.
I’m partnering with Kelly Lydick, a friend and colleague (from my book publishing days at Avalon Travel Publishing) as part of the Special Offer for Authors.
Kelly Lydick is the owner of Waking the Dream, a boutique consulting company located in Phoenix, Arizona. She holds a Masters degree in Writing & Consciousness and professional certifications as a Meditation Facilitator, Reiki Master, and Gateway Dreaming™ Coach. Her writing has appeared in Guernica, The Rumpus, Switched-on Gutenberg, CO Yoga + Life, Natural Awakenings, and True Blue Spirit magazines among many others. Her work has also been featured on NPR’s The Writers’ Block. She is the author of Mastering the Dream and is a contributing author to Dreams That Change Our Lives. She is a member of the co-founding editorial team and Associate Editor of Immanence Journal.
Kelly first met Kemi while working at Avalon Travel and since then has cultivated more than a decade of experience as an editor. In 2016, Kelly was honored by the internationally-renowned Omega Institute of Rhinebeck, New York with a Juno Award for excellence in women’s leadership for her service-based business.
Some of her clients have included Gibbs Smith Publisher, Cengage Learning, Bridgepoint Education, and many others.
When Kelly’s not editing manuscripts and consulting with clients, you can find her doing yoga, writing, and spending time with her son—her best creation to date.
